To provide participants with the knowledge and practical skills to plan, organise and manage lifting operations safely, in accordance with international lifting standards, regulations and best practices.

Learning outcomes

Identify and evaluate hazards associated with lifting activities.
Plan and prepare lifting operations, from simple to complex lifts.
Select appropriate lifting equipment and lifting accessories.
Assess load weights, centre of gravity and stability.
Prepare lifting plans, method statements and risk assessments.
Communicate effectively with lifting team members.
Ensure safe execution, supervision and handover of lifting operations.

Assessment

Written examination (theory)
Lifting plan preparation (practical assignment)

Duration: 5 days
Accreditation: LEEA approved (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association)
Target audience: Supervisors, engineers, safety professionals, lifting coordinators and anyone responsible for planning, supervising and controlling lifting operations.
Certification: Participants who pass the assessments receive a LEEA-approved Appointed Person Certificate, recognised internationally across industries such as construction, oil & gas, fabrication, logistics and marine operations.
